Module 1: Yoga Anatomy & Physiology

In this course we will explore in detail the anatomy and physiology of our incredible bodies applied to practising and teaching yoga. Each topic that we delve into will be related directly back to the yoga asana practice. There will be a strong focus on using this knowledge of anatomy to make asana practices as inclusive as possible.

Assessmet:

  1. You are required to produce a 15 minute video presentation demonstrating your understanding of either shoulder joint, pelvis or spine and how you might increase mobility & strength through a yoga pracitce. Consieration should be made of how to safely progress and common injuries. (Submission window: Nov 14th - Dec 12th ).

  2. You are required to demonstrate an applied understanding of yoga anatomy & physiology in teaching practice, both in the planning of a yoga class and through verbal and non-verbal cues or adaptions in your teaching. (Ongoing)
